Alana Wong, Consultant

Alana has been working in the field of education for the past eight years. She has worked in multiple educational settings with students of varying backgrounds and educational needs. She is trained in many language-based programs and provides instruction to improve academic skills in decoding, reading fluency and comprehension, spelling, writing, and math.

In the Spring of 2011, Alana completed her multiple subjects credentialing program. She currently holds a Master’s of arts degree in Education/Elementary Teacher Education and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology and Social Behavior.

Alana has a passion for learning and teaching; she believes that a great teacher is one who never stops the quest of learning.

Alex Chau, clinician

Alex proudly received his Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Studies from University of California Irvine in June 2013.

While working on his education, Alex interned at Tustin Memorial Academy as a teacher’s assistant where he found his passion for working with kids. While interning at Tustin Memorial Academy, Alex set his eyes upon a career in the teaching field.

Working as a clinician at DOORS Education has brought Alex a sense of pride and fulfillment. As well, Alex appreciates the allowance for academic growth for students to succeed that DOORS Educations offers.

Claire Camaya, Director

Claire has been an educator for over 12 years. She is a doctoral learner and currently holds a master’s degree in Cross-Categorical Special Education from the University of Phoenix, as well as bachelor’s degrees in English Literature and Women’s Studies from the University of California, Irvine. She has extensive experience teaching, consulting, and designing programs for children with varying needs, including learning differences, Down Syndrome, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Fragile X, and ADHD.

She has worked in a variety of educational settings, including learning centers as well as public and private education. She is trained in various research-based programs and has experience utilizing research-based teaching methodologies to address the individual’s learning needs.

She believes each student has the potential for academic and life-long success, and she strives to help students realize that success.

Kristin Tajima, Consultant

Kristin received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Social Behavior and Minor in Education from the University of California Irvine. Kristin has been working in the field of education for over nine years.

Prior to joining the DOORS Educational Center team, Kristin was the Assistant Director of a learning center where she gained extensive experience providing individualized academic instruction to students diagnosed with dyslexia, Autism and other language-based difficulties. In addition to providing academic instruction, Kristin also works at a private facility as a senior social behavior therapist. For the last four years, Kristin has utilized the methods of Applied Behavior Analysis to provide social skills instruction to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and other developmental delays.

Kristin enjoys working with children of all abilities and has a special interest in helping each child reach their full potential.

Noreen Lee, clinician

Noreen recently graduated from University of California Irvine where she proudly received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology.

While attending UCI, Noreen happily volunteered for an organization called Karate For All, an occupational therapy based Martial Arts class. As a volunteer, Noreen worked with kids ranging from age 4 to 15 years old with special needs. Through Karate For All, Noreen was looking to gain hands on experience in order to pursue a career in occupational therapy.

Working as a clinician for DOORS Education has been a rewarding experience for Noreen. Being able to witness the progress and improvements her students make as they overcome their difficulties is truly fulfilling. As well, Noreen gets a great sense of gratification from being able to connect with her students and provide a friendly and fun atmosphere for
developmental growth.

Patricia Pham, clinician

Patricia has excitedly entered her senior year at University California Irvine where she is currently working towards her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Social Behavior and Criminology. After Patricia graduates in 2014 she hopes to pursue a career in child development and therapy.

In order to increase her experience working in her desired field, Patricia has volunteered as a mentor for the high school volunteer program at Fountain Valley Hospital. Through her volunteer work, Patricia has a gained a sense of accomplishment and a passion for helping kids.

Patricia’s favorite part about working for DOORS Education as a clinician is getting the chance to interact with such a diverse group of kids. She believes each and every kid has their own unique personality which makes every session new and exciting.
